Wow! That would have been some awesome matchups!

One thing I must ask though. When they said when teams are 200+ miles apart they must play on neautral sites I thought that the two would have to meet somewhere in the middle? That way it would cut down on time of travel and allow for enough time to play the games in a timely manner. I am definately one fan that would travel no matter what to see these games and would even pay double. Best idea that I have seen yet.

I'd say you are in the minority...this plan will do OK until the VHSL gets the gate receipts for the playoff games.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

That's the intention. But I just don't see how someone from the VHSL is going to say Gate City & (Region B team of the week) are going to play somewhere in the middle, like Pulaski. The #1 seed would have had THREE road trips of three hours for "home" games.
Shoot... ppl. kick on moving ONE game to Wise!

The thing about Wise is the fact it is not a high school regulation field. As long as the neautral sites that are determined by the VHSL in this plan are on High School Regulation fields then no one can say a thing about it.

How long has it been since the state game was played on a high school lined field? 8-9 years? Don't look for it to change.

Last year. Salem has both College and High School Markings. Salem also has both college and high school goal posts. The only Single A playoff games played on college fields are the D 1&2 Region D games and a very rare D1 State Semi game like last years. It has been awhile since the Single A State Title game has NOT been played on HS field.

What is the actual difference between a "High School Regulation Field" and a "College Regulation Field"?

And does the VHSL already not get the gate for all playoff games?

Personally, I think, that when you make it to playoffs, you should get to enjoy certain perks like playing in a larger venue than you did in you regular season games. That is part of the tournament atmosphere. It should not seem like a regular season game.

And even though I am a girl, I am very sports minded. So don't take these questions as, oh, she doesn't know because she is a girl. I might be a girl, but I do know a thing or two about sports in the area. I am asking the questions because I want to learn more about the subject.

The hash marks are more centered on a collegiate football field and also the goal posts are narrower.
